Objectives & Future plans

Objectives of the Research Committee:

  • Promote a Research Culture: Encourage faculty and students to engage in research activities aligned with their academic interests.
  • Facilitate Minor Projects: Motivate teachers to apply for Minor Research Projects from UGC, DST, and other funding bodies.
  • Collaborations & MoUs: Establish collaborations with nearby institutions, research centers, and NGOs to expand research opportunities.
  • Organize Capacity-Building Programs: Conduct seminars, webinars, workshops, and training sessions on research methodology, ethics, and writing.
  • Encourage Student Participation: Support students in undertaking simple project work, field surveys, and internship-based research.
  • Promote Publication Ethics: Encourage faculty to publish in peer-reviewed journals and discourage plagiarism through awareness.

Future Plans:

  • Create a Research Cell Portal: Develop an online/offline repository to showcase ongoing research, publications, and student projects.
  • Internal Seed Grant Scheme: Explore possibilities for introducing a small seed fund (college-level or departmental) to support pilot projects.
  • Annual Research Meet: Initiate a yearly in-house research day to present faculty and student work and foster interdisciplinary discussion.
  • Research Skill Development: Partner with nearby universities or online platforms to offer short-term certificate courses on data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R).
  • Apply for External Funding: Plan to apply for government and non-government funding as infrastructure and expertise gradually improve.
  • Interdisciplinary Research Promotion: Identify local or regional issues (health, environment, women empowerment) as themes for interdisciplinary research.
